Have you heard someone say those words to you, before?
"I am not going anywhere!" and sometimes it feels that they are right... but are they?
What would one have to do in order to actually NOT be going anywhere? Even if they sat down, and thought they were stationary, would they be? Well according to earth science statistics, "The Earth rotates in about 24 hours. Therefore, if you were to hang above the surface of the Earth at the equator without moving, you would see 25,000 miles pass by in 24 hours, at a speed of 25000/24 or just over 1000 miles per hour."
So I guess in order to go "no where" we would have to obtain an earthly orbit and possibly travel in reverse direction that the earth is spinning in order to be stationery, correct?
NOPE!
The velocity of the earth traveling around the sun is approximately 107,300 km/h (or if you prefer 67,062 miles per hour) and there's not a rocket ship available today that can carry us around the cosmos at this speed. So in order for us to be completely still in space, we would have to travel this fast in the opposite direction to be completely still, yes?
NOPE! Why not?
Because the earth, which is tethered to our Sun, would then also be traveling around the Galactic Center at about 500,000 miles per hour... WHAT?
"Using a radio telescope system that measures celestial distances 500 times more accurately than the Hubble Space Telescope, astronomers plotted the motion of the Milky Way and found that the sun and its family of planets were orbiting the galaxy at about 135-150 miles per second." so "The sun circles the Milky Way at a speed of about 486,000 - 515,000 miles per hour." - pretty darned fast!
What if we wanted to leave this galaxy and be out in the middle of the emptiness of space; no disc, no galactic center to be tethered to... how fast would we have to travel in order to escape our Milky Way Galaxy? "The total speed is about 300 kilometers per second or so." So traveling about the emptiness of Absolute Zero Space and we're also hurling towards the Andromeda Galaxy at about 300,000 miles per hour... so if we think we could out run the Milky Way or the pending collision between us and the Andromeda Galaxy, think again.
So does anything rest? We live in an "ocean of motion."
Just something you can think about the next time you think that you are not going ANYWHERE!
To actually NOT going anywhere would be much harder than one thinks.
We would have to be traveling close to 300,000 mph ahead of the Milky Way Galaxy to appear as if we weren't going anywhere but it would only be in appearances.

Nikken MicroJet Preview!
My own personal review...
It feels like standing under Multnomah Falls as if it were a Hot Springs... with the absence of chlorine in the water, my skin feels absolutely amazing after using my PIMAG microbubble shower unit.
